Back pain and spinal issues may seem like inconveniences when they happen to us, but they don’t have any long-term impact. Do they?

Ongoing back pain can cause us to change our daily habits, which can seem temporary, but when the pain continues for long enough, these small differences in everyday life can turn into permanent habits. Not getting out for a walk one day because of back pain can quickly become a habit of not getting out for your daily exercise and, eventually, these small changes can have a significant impact on our bodies, so it is essential to take care of the issues that disrupt the way that we live a healthy life.

Another issue that can come from untreated injuries is changing the way we move to compensate for the pain. Our mind and body change how we approach movements when they know they will cause pain, even without our knowledge. Although these adjustments will temporarily take care of the pain, oftentimes, they can cause more significant issues in other parts of the body that are working overtime to take care of the injury.

By treating injuries and pain when they happen and maintaining our bodies to the best of our ability, we can save ourselves from other potential pain or habits that may follow!
