Family Chiro and Wellness Clinic Wetaskiwin

Welcome to Wetaskiwin Family Chiropractic.

As a Chiropractor and Clinic Owner, I’m willing to go the extra mile to figure out what the problem is and what it takes to find a solution for you. I believe that we all deserve to thrive, feel good and be happy. Today I do my best to live by example and practice what I teach. In fact, it was my own road to recovery that motivated my career.

After being in a big car accident as a child, I had ongoing issues of pain that were not being addressed medically. There was an attitude that I was nine and should have healed. At their wits end, my parents took me to a chiropractor. I immediately improved and I never looked back!

I’m the youngest child and my journey also inspired my older siblings to go down a chiropractic road and approach health and wellness from a wholistic view.

When I was old enough, I knew I wanted to be in healthcare too and Chiropractic School was a natural choice after my journey. Today, I love how Chiropractic care overlaps with wellness and wellbeing in a way that suits my holistic approach.

Our team at Wetaskiwin Family Chiropractic would love to support you on your journey too!

I am the Owner and Operator of Wetaskiwin Family Chiropractic though usually say Christine and Laurie are in charge of me! I provide Chiropractic and Acupuncture Care in the office as well as Lifestyle and Nutritional Counselling.

I love that I get to work with a diverse range of patients to feel better everyday in every way. I feel it’s a privilege that people trust me with their care.

Outside of work, walking and trying to keep Piper entertained can be another full time job! I love spending time with my family, staying active outdoors, re-learning to play the piano, travelling, camping, reading and movies.

Other credentials include: Webster Technique, Certified Yoga Teacher, CPR Certified, Acupuncture Certified.

WISE WORDS:
The best things to do for your health are the things you will stick to consistently. Start small and be consistent whether it’s moving more, eating better, meditation, yoga or looking after yourself in any small way.

Chiropractor

I am one of the Chiropractors treating patients. I get to help people feel and move better every day. That’s a pretty awesome aspect of my job.

I love hanging out with my partner and our pets. The rest of the time I’m at a hockey rink playing the game I love.

WISE WORDS:
Catch. Correct. And Carry On.

Catch that you’re doing something that might not be helpful to your body/health.

Correct what you’re doing.

And Carry On with your day. Don’t worry that you had to correct yourself, this is how we build healthier habits!

Massage Therapist

I’m a massage therapist, I strive to create a healing and relaxing experience.

I enjoy helping people and I also enjoy the puzzle and challenge that each person brings.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outside walking my dog or gardening. I also like all of the typical nerdy things like video games, dungeons and dragons, reading, movies etc.

WISE WORDS:
You cannot pour from an empty cup, taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of others.

Massage Therapist

I’m a massage therapist focused on creating relaxing, healing sessions that ease pain and help people unwind. I engage by listening closely to what’s going on with your body, delivering personalized, mindful massage.

I love being a massage therapist because I get the privilege of helping people unwind, release tension, and feel truly cared for in a world that moves too fast.

Outside of work, I like getting out in nature, reading books, listening to podcasts, and enjoying music.

Student Massage Therapist

I am a second-year massage therapy student practicing to become a warm, friendly, and efficient massage therapist. I love making people relaxed and the sleepy look in someone’s eyes after a massage is the most rewarding part of the job!

Outside of massaging, I enjoy hanging out with my animals, reading, skiing and various other outdoor activities.

WISE WORDS:
The best wellness tip I’ve learned in my short time massaging is to use hydrotherapy (warm or cold water) to relax muscles. A hot or cold stone massage feels fantastic, or even a warm bath with Epsom salts to soothe those aching muscles!

Reception | Admin

I am a part of reception admin…aka I am the captain of the ship! I like to provide a space that is welcoming and friendly and providing a few laughs is always a bonus!

I love being able to encourage patients in their wellness journey, educating about various supplements and recipe ideas to fit their lifestyle goals.

I’m loving learning to ride horses, and the therapy as I say, associated with getting to tack them up and down. Also being the foodie I am, I love creating works of art in the kitchen. And nothing beats coffee or a meal with good friends & family!

WISE WORDS:
Your thoughts are the catalyst for health from the inside out, think wisely!

Reception | Administrative Assistant

My name is Jenna Perkins and I’m an Administrative Assistant at Wetaskiwin Family Chiropractic.

I’m still fairly new so I think they’re being pretty easy on me haha, but I’m doing everything I can to make sure everyone that comes in has a great experience and leaves better than when they came in.

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone at the clinic better – the other staff and the patients!

Outside of work there’s a good chance I’m at a basketball court either watching one of my kids play or coaching a team. Otherwise, I love to be outside as much as possible exploring nature and getting around water either swimming, kayaking or just being on the beach!

WISE WORDS:
If nothing changes – nothing changes!

Freelance Therapy Consultant

My Official Role is “Freelance Therapy Consultant” but I don’t like titles so mostly I describe myself as a Free-range play advocate, scarer of Pigeons and Street Monitor.

I love what I do because it l keeps me active and allows me to help others.

Outside of work I love farm time with my grandparents, rolling in anything smelly, policing the neighbourhood, walking endlessly and chasing birds.
